It is this simple, yet empowering philosophy that determines the essence of DEEP Foundation.
What had started out as a one woman’s dream has now taken the shape of a full-fledged movement that pulls several like minded people and organizations together.
In June 2009, DEEP Foundation ((Development through Empowerment and Education Programs) was established with a view to empower the underprivileged of our society with a deeper understanding and application of what they were taught in their schools, enabling them to imbibe the benefits of education in the true sense.
As a central coordinating agency, DEEP Foundation is poised to steer integrated growth amongst the weaker sections of society. We see ourselves leveraging the strengths of several other developmental agencies, citizens, bureaucracy and politicians to help achieve our goals.
In order to develop self sustaining societies, we see a large part of our work in the sphere of education—i.e awareness sessions, basic education, practical tools and techniques.
Currently, DEEP foundation reaches out to over 6000 children annually through its 53 Henny Penny Library centres spread across the country.
We try as far as possible never to assist in currency form, but rather prefer to investigate what people, especially children, need and to deliver that item directly into their hands. This avoids many of the pitfalls that exist in the world of giving. All volunteers and office bearers of DEEP Foundation are professionals who invest a few hours of their time every week to drive this initiative.
No member of DEEP Foundation receives financial gain of any kind but the true satisfaction of knowing that, at the very least, we are attempting to make a difference.
